1 Guangzhou Nansha Free Trade Zone

China (Guangdong) Free Trade Area of Guangzhou Nansha District has an area of 60 square kilometers including Guangzhou Nansha bonded port area of 7.06 square kilometers, and a total of seven blocks which are divided into the center plate, seaport plate and Qingsheng plate.

China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone of Guangzhou Nansha District (hereinafter referred to as the Nansha Free-Trade Area) is committed to building a legal and international business environment compatible with the new international rules and regulations system, taking the lead to achieve the liberalization of service and trade with Hong Kong and Macao, turning into an international shipping logistics center of which the function of international trade is highly integrated and the function of financial innovation service is strong, becoming the demonstration base of science and technology innovation cooperation among the countries along the maritime silk road in the 21st century, building into a two-way channel and important platform of the international market of mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, playing an important role in the open economy of country .

At the national level, the establishment of Guangdong pilot free trade zone has great strategic significance. Firstly, it is conducive for the country to promote a new round of opening-up strategy,exploring new ways to comprehensively improving the open economy of China. Secondly, it is conducive to further deepening all-round cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao,maintaining long-term prosperity and stability of the Hong Kong and Macao regions. Thirdly, it is conducive to promoting the transformation and upgrading of the pearl-river delta region and building a new height for opening up to the outside world that drives regional development.

2 Guangzhou Development Zone

Guangzhou Economic And Technological Development Zone, Guangzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Guangzhou Export Processing Zone, Guangzhou Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as “Guangzhou Development Zone” above) is located in the east of Guangzhou, with a planning area of 78.92 square kilometers. It has nine industrial clusters, including electronic information, tablet display, automobile and spare parts, chemical industry, new materials, e-commerce, food and beverage, biological medicine and intelligent equipment. Since the building of the area in 1984, Guangzhou Development Zone has sustained a rapid economic growth, and its comprehensive economic strength always remains the top three in the national development zones and economic benefit is one of the best compared to other national development zone. for 30 years, Guangzhou Development Zone, committing to the development of industrial economy, expanding the opening to the outside world, strengthening the scientific and technological innovation, is the important growth pole of economic development in Guangzhou, the key open areas and the engine of science and technology innovation.

3 Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen

Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen was established on April 27th, 2015, and is a part of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The total planned area are 28.2 square kilometers, among which, 15 square kilometers (including 3.71 square kilometers of Qianhai Bay Bonded Port Area) will be occupied by Qianhai district and 13.2 square kilometers will be occupied by Shekou district.

Capitalizing on the advantages and extensive experience in marketization, legalization and internationalization, Qianhai and Shekou districts will utilize their prime locations in carrying out the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road strategy to further integrate the resources of Shenzhen and Hong Kong and gather other high-end resources from abroad. High priority will placed on the development of financial services, modern logistics, information service, technology service, professional services, port service, shipping service and other strategic emerging services so as to facilitate the economic integration and development of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. In addition, commitment will also be made to develop Qianhai and Shekou districts into the centre of Asia-Pacific region in terms of manufacture-related service industry as well as an important world trade base and international hub.

Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen will spend 3 to 5 years in reforming, to build up the an business environment of internationalization, marketization and legalization, construct an open economy, deepen the cooperation with Hong Kong and Macau, and accelerate the breeding of new international cooperation and competition advantage. Gradually, Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen  will achieve the modernization of management of the open economy system and the management ability, becoming the new standard of pilot free trade zone of China.

4 Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai

The Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai is a 106.46-square-kilometer coastal island tucked into the southern corner of the city of Zhuhai in Guangdong province. Because it is adjacent to Macao, which is no more than 200 meters away, the island has been selected as a New Area in order to enhance economic ties with Hong Kong and Macao.

The Hengqin New Area was officially established on Dec. 16, 2009. In the ensuing years, it has enjoyed great economic expansion with the support of preferential policies including high tax rebates and 24-hour customs clearance.

As improved public facilities have allowed Hengqin to expand its ties with Hong Kong and Macao, the coastal city has resolved to attract investment by developing a variety of sectors as its pillar industries: finance, business services, tourism, culture, traditional Chinese medicine, research and development centers, education bases and high tech industry.
